In spiritual and external beauty, he surpasses all. From the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) a mysterious nur, radiance poured out. He was of average height, neither tall nor short. This is how Hassan praised him: "His height is perfect: not tall, but seeming taller than everyone else, and not lower than others." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had the most beautiful and pleasant face. Describers often compared his face to the full moon. Some of his contemporaries called him moon-faced, others said that they could not get enough of him, others said that the body and face were given to him as if he himself was allowed to choose them. He was like the sun that rises over everything. About the appearance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) they say: “He is beautiful, like the full moon.” "I couldn't get enough of the beauty of his face." "He was so handsome that it seemed that he himself was asked what appearance to bestow on him." His beard was black and thick. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had only 17 gray hairs. His neck shone like it was made of silver. The chest and shoulders were broad and powerful. The forearms and hips were athletic. He was proportionately complex. Between the shoulder blades was the seal of the prophecy in the form of a relief triangle. The fingers were as if cast from silver, the hands were softer than silk. When they greeted him, a pleasant smell and an unusual feeling of lightness and warmth remained even after several days. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) put his hand on the head of one of the children, then these children could then be distinguished from others by a very pleasant smell. His hair was wavy. He sometimes gathered them into four pigtails, and sometimes loosened them. The color of the skin of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was white with a hint of blush. Beads of sweat on his face looked like pearls. The scent of his sweat was sweeter than musk. This is how the companion Anas spoke about this: “From the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) radiance emanated, the droplets of his sweat were like pearls, and while walking he leaned forward slightly and walked sedately (with dignity, but not slowly). I never touched silk or brocade, which were softer than the hands of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I never inhaled the scent of musk or ambergris, which would be more pleasant than the smell emanating from him.

In the name of Allah, Merciful to everyone on this earth and only to believers on the day of the Great Judgment.

And he was born in the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, on the 12th, on Monday, before dawn. At the hour of the birth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the walls cracked and 14 balconies of the famous palace Ivan, belonging to Khosrov, collapsed down, Lake Sava, which the pagans worshiped, dried up. After her death, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taken up by his grandfather Abdul-Mutallib who died when the Prophet was eight years, two months and ten days old. On his first journey, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went at the age of twelve to Sham (the current territory of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine, which was then under the rule of the Byzantine Empire) with the caravan of his uncle Abu-Talib. When they reached the city of Busra, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was seen by the priest Bakhir, he recognized him by the image described in the Bible. Approaching them and pointing to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he addressed with these words: “This is the messenger of the Creator of all worlds, who is a mercy for all beings. From the moment you set off, not a single stone and tree remained that did not bow to him. And they don't worship anyone but the prophets. Saints from ancient times spoke about him, and we see his image in our writings. Turning to Abu Talib, the priest said: “If you go with him to Sham, the Jews will kill him!” Fearing harm from the Jews, he sent them on their way back.

The second time the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to Sham, accompanying the trading caravan of Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her). Along with him on this journey was a slave named Khadija Maysara. When they entered the land of Sham, they stopped under the shade of a tree growing near the monastery. After a while, a monk approached them and said: "No one has ever stopped under this tree, except the prophets." Maysara said: “When noon approached and the heat increased, two angels descended from heaven. And I could see how a shadow fell from them on Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Upon his return from the journey, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) married Khadija (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of Khuwaylid. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was 25 years old, two months and ten days old.

Islam is one of the most widespread religious movements in the world. Today, in total, he has over a billion followers worldwide. The founder and great prophet of this religion is a native of the Arab tribes named Mohammed. His life - wars and revelations - will be discussed in this article.

Birth and childhood of the founder of Islam

The birth of the Prophet Muhammad is a very important event for Muslims. It was in 570 (or so) in the city of Mecca, which is located on the territory of modern Saudi Arabia. The future preacher came from an influential tribe of Quraysh - the keepers of Arab religious relics, the main of which was the Kaaba, which will be discussed below.

Mohammed lost his parents very early. He did not know his father at all, since he died before the birth of his son, and his mother died when the future prophet was barely six years old. Therefore, the boy was raised by his grandfather and uncle. Under the influence of his grandfather, young Muhammad was deeply imbued with the idea of monotheism, although most of his fellow tribesmen professed paganism, worshiping many deities of the ancient Arab pantheon. This is how the religious history of the Prophet Muhammad began.

The youth of the future prophet and the first marriage

When the young man grew up, his uncle introduced him to his trading business. It must be said that Muhammad succeeded quite well in them, gaining respect and trust among his people. Things went so well under his leadership that in time he even became the manager of the commercial affairs of a wealthy woman named Khadija. The latter fell in love with the young enterprising Mohammed, the business relationship gradually grew into a personal one. Nothing interfered with them, since Khadija was a widow, in the end Muhammad married her. This union was happy, the spouses lived in love and harmony. From this marriage the prophet had six children.

The Religious Life of a Prophet as a Young Man

Muhammad has always been a pious man. He thought a lot about divine things and often retired to pray. He also had a custom to retire annually to the mountains for a long time, in order to hide in a cave and spend time there in fasting and prayers. Further history Prophet Mohammed is closely connected with one of these solitudes, which occurred in 610. He was then about forty years old. Despite his already mature age, Muhammad was open to new experiences. And this year was a turning point for him. One can even say that then the second birth of the Prophet Muhammad took place, the birth precisely as a prophet, as a religious leader and preacher.

Revelation of Gabriel (Jabreel)

In short, Muhammad experienced a meeting with Gabriel (Jabreel in Arabic transcription) - an archangel known from Jewish and Christian books. The latter, Muslims believe, was sent by God to reveal to the new prophet a few words which the latter was ordered to learn. They, according to Islamic beliefs, became the first lines of the Koran - the holy scripture for Muslims.

In the future, Gabriel, appearing in various guises or simply manifesting himself in his voice, conveyed to Muhammad instructions and commands from above, that is, from God, who in Arabic is called Allah. The latter revealed himself to Muhammad as the Lord, who had previously spoken in the prophets of Israel and in Jesus Christ. Thus arose the third - Islam. The Prophet Mohammed became its actual founder and fiery preacher.

The life of Muhammad after the beginning of the sermon

The subsequent history of the Prophet Muhammad is marked by tragedy. Because of his persistent preaching, he made many enemies. He and his converts were boycotted by their compatriots. Many Muslims were subsequently forced to seek refuge in Abyssinia, where they were graciously sheltered by the Christian king.

In 619, Khadija, the faithful wife of the prophet, died. Following her, the uncle of the prophet died, who defended his nephew from indignant fellow tribesmen. To avoid reprisals and persecution by enemies, Muhammad had to leave his native Mecca. He tried to find shelter in the nearby Arab city of Taif, but he was not accepted there either. Therefore, at his own peril and risk, he was forced to return.

When the Prophet Muhammad died, he was sixty-three years old. It is believed that his last words were the phrase: "I am destined to stay in paradise among the most worthy."

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is truly one of the most influential figures in the history of Islam. But few people know what kind of person the great prophet of Islam really was. The following facts are the most amazing about the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

  1. He was an orphan

The Prophet's father died before the birth of Muhammad. According to the ancient Arab tradition, little Muhammad was given to be raised by the Bedouins. When Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was 6 years old, his mother died while returning from Medina, where she went to visit relatives. After that, his grandfather Abdulmuttalib became his trustee, and Ummu Ayman looked after him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) later said that she was his second mother. When he was 8 years old, his beloved grandfather also died. His uncle Abu Talib became his trustee, according to the will of his grandfather.

  1. He married for love

The widow Khadija was 40 years old, the Prophet Muhammad was 25 years old, the Prophet Muhammad worked for Khadija, and was engaged in escorting trade caravans. Khadija, noticing the pious disposition of Muhammad, herself invited him to marry her. Truly, this was a great love, based on respect and caused by the attraction to a good disposition. Muhammad was young and could have chosen another young girl, but it was Khadijah who gave his heart and they were married for 24 years until her death. Muhammad yearned for Khadija for 13 years before he left the world himself. His subsequent marriages were driven by a personal drive to help and provide social protection. In addition, Muhammad had children only from Khadija.

  1. His first reaction to receiving the prophecy is doubt and despair.

At a certain age, Muhammad developed a need for solitude. He was haunted by questions to which he could not find answers. Muhammad retired to the cave of Hira and spent his time in meditation. During one regular seclusion, he received the first revelation from Allah. He was then 40 years old. In his own words, at that moment the pain was so intense that he thought he was dying. The meeting with the Angel of the Most High became inexplicable for him. Muhammad was seized with fear and despair, from which he sought peace from his wife Khadija.

  1. The prophet was a reformer

The message of Muhammad, who became a prophet, who found the true message and revelation, ran counter to the established norms of Arab society. Muhammad's message was against the corruption and ignorance of Meccan society. The continued revelations coming to Muhammad demanded social and economic justice, which caused the dissent of the elite.

  1. Prophet Muhammad stood for peace

The Prophet throughout his life was subjected to many difficulties, including the rejection of him as a prophet, the militia of polytheists, organized oppression of him and his followers. The Prophet never responded to aggression with aggression, he always maintained a sound mind and tolerance, calling for peace. The highest point of the peacefulness of the Prophet is his sermon delivered on Mount Arafat, where the messenger urged his followers to respect religion and peoples, not to harm people even with a word.

  1. He died without leaving a successor

The Prophet left the world without a successor, since all his children had died before him. Under such conditions, many thought that the prophet would clearly state his desire for a successor, but this did not happen.
