My huawei terminal won't start. How and how to enter at commands into the modem

HUAWEI Modem is a program that provides configuration and operation of modems of this brand. In the program, you change the configuration of the HUAWEI peripherals, download the firmware update and configure the routers.

HUAWEI Modem supports the Russian language and "flashes" popular modem models. The program provides full control over the modem stuffing and manages routers that are connected to the computer. The utility has USSD command settings and ready-made device configs.

Available functions

The main function of HUAWEI Modem is to work with ready-made settings profiles that support work with Ukrainian, Russian and other operators cellular communication. The profiles contain a template that quickly turns on and creates a connection in the modem.

This version of the program works with settings for Beeline, MTS, Tele2, Utel, Megafon, Life and Smarts. Using a special manager, you work with profiles, switching between them. Sometimes the necessary settings are recognized by the program automatically. This feature provides fast access to the network without unnecessary connections.

Another main feature of the program is making voice calls. Voice calling is not supported on all device models - only 5% of HUAWEI brand modems and routers are equipped with this feature.

USSD commands are executed on any modems of this manufacturer. A useful function of this program is the restoration of communication after a short-term loss of the network.

Important note

Before flashing the device, remember that a SIM card that works on this operator will not be “detected” in the modem with a card from another operator. Getting access to the "default SIM card" is carried out after special procedures.

There is no official information on how to do this yet. Use the instructions on specialized forums or websites of programmers. The reverse procedure requires special skills. Do not restore access to the standard operator without proper knowledge.

Key features

  • installation of profiles with ready-made configs that contain parameters for known operators;
  • calling and sending SMS messages on supported devices;
  • the ability to process commands on USSD;
  • a shell with a clear and convenient interface, which was created with the Russian language;
  • automatic authorization of the modem when the line breaks;
  • recognition of settings for operators in automatic mode.
In this article, we will look at how you can unlock a Huawei modem using AT commands, and also how you can generally interact with the modem using them. For example, let's take the currently popular model - Huawei E3272 ... As we wrote earlier, you can interact with the modem using AT commands through special terminal programs, for example HyperTerminal, PuTTy, Huawei Modem Terminal, etc. Let's see how to do it.

Entering AT commands into a Huawei modem using PuTTy

After the modem is installed in the device manager, additional devices should appear:

In the Modems section - Huawei Mobile Connect - Modem, in the Ports (COM and LPT) section - HUAWEI Mobile Connect - PC UI Interfac (COM5) (you may have a different port number, remember it, because it is through it that we will connect to a modem to enter AT commands) and in the Network adapters - HUAWEI Mobile Connect - Network Card section. As you can see, the modem is defined both on the COM port and as an NDIS network adapter. Now we launch PuTTy and configure the connection to the COM port. Please note that all processes occupying the modem's COM port must be closed while we connect to the modem using PuTTy. In this case, these are MegaFonInternet.exe and MegaFonInternetService.exe. We go to the task manager and end these processes:

You can also do this from the console (Win + R -> cmd -> Ok) using the following command sequence:

net stop "MegaFon Internet Service"

taskkill /f /im MegaFonInternet.exe

Set up Putty as follows and click the "Connect" button:

How to find out modem IMEI and firmware version using AT commands?

The modem's IMEI and firmware version can be found using the ATI command, or AT+CGSN. Enter these two commands sequentially into the modem and see its response:

ATI+CGSN Manufacturer: huawei Model: E3272 Revision: 21.436.05.00.209 IMEI: 867503013090647 +GCAP: +CGSM,+DS,+ES 867503013090647 OK

As you can see, the IMEI of the modem in this case is 867503013090647, the modem firmware version is 21.436.05.00.209. possible on our service. In response, you will receive an unlock code and the code requested when flashing the modem. For a given IMEI, we will receive the following in response:

IMEI: 867503013090647 201 Algo Unlock Code: 72033153 Flash Code: 34262301

That. the unlock code for our modem is 72033153. Let's enter it and check the lock status.

How to enter the unlock code into the modem using the AT command?

To do this, give the command AT^CARDLOCK="72033153", after which, check the status of the lock using AT^CARDLOCK? :

As you can see, the modem answered ^CARDLOCK 2,10,0 - which means that it is unlocked and can now be used by SIM cards of any operators. Now we will look at how to do the same through DC Unlocker.

How to enter an AT command into a modem using DC Unlocker?

by the most in a simple way is the use of software DC Unlocker as a terminal program. Download latest version DC Unlock Client at the following link. Do not press any buttons in it (neither unlocking, nor connecting to the server, nor anything else we need), just click on the magnifying glass button so that the client detects your modem:

In the figure, this button is marked with the number 1. Pay attention to DC Unlocker log (log this is all the information in the window, it displays your modem model, firmware version, etc.) and the number of remaining attempts to enter the unlock code. If there are no more attempts to enter the code, then it will no longer be possible to unlock the modem with the code. Enter the command below in the same window AT^CARDLOCK="nck code", where nck code is the unlock code you received. After the modem answers Ok, it will be unlocked.

Before using DC Unlocker as a terminal client, you also need to make sure, as we did in the case of PuTTy, that none of the processes and services is using the modem's COM port (if you have an open program for connecting to the Internet that comes with the modem - it must be closed), and even better, complete all the "extra" processes related to the modem through the task manager.

What to do if DC Unlocker does not detect the modem, does not see the COM port?

Make sure that the software that comes with the modem for Internet access (for example, Connect Manager or Megafon Internet, etc.) is closed for you. during operation, it uses the modem's COM port. It also does not hurt to go to the task manager and stop all processes related to this software. Then run DC Unlocker again and try to detect the modem again. If the COM port is not visible in this case, there is one trick. Download the official firmware for your modem (this can be done on the operator's website or on any of the many mobile forums on the network, such as w3bsit3-dns.com and others) and run the flash driver (DC Unlocker must be closed at this time). Go to the step where the flash driver will ask you for a Flash code for flashing. Don't enter it! At the moment when the flash driver asked you for a Flash code - the modem has already been determined on the COM port, close the flash driver and run DC Unlocker. The COM port must be seen and the modem will be detected.

AT command is used to control some of the modem's functions. Commands can be entered with special programs, it is much easier than the hyperterminal built into Windows XP. To do this, you can use the following programs: or Before using these programs, you must close all other programs that can use the modem. For Huawei modems, you need to connect to the COM port " 3G PC UI Interface", for modems ZTE MF on the COM port "ZTE Proprietary USB Modem". How to use, look at the pictures, everything is quite simple. If there are several commands, first enter one - click Enter, then the next and again press Enter.

Many who deal with Huawei and ZTE MF modems are familiar with My Huawei Terminal (Author of the program Alexander Shokin). Those who have been dealing with modems for a long time do not need to explain why My Huawei Terminal is needed. But for those who are just starting to learn how to work with a modem, it will be useful to read this material at least for general development.

My Huawei Terminal is designed to send special AT commands to the modem with which you can do some manipulations with the modem. For example commands for ZTE MF

AT+ZCDRUN=E removes the NODOWNLOAD.FLG file

ATI find information about the modem

There are a lot of AT commands... There is no point in writing all of them. You can find the necessary commands on the Internet.

So, let's look at a few examples of entering commands using the ZTE MF 180 modem as an example.

You have a modem! But you don't know what it is and you also need to know its IMEI.

Install the software from the modem and launch My Huawei Terminal

Open the top line (by clicking on the arrow) and select the port on which your modem is currently located. (in this case, it is COM22 (ZTE Proprietary USB Modem) Your COM port number may be different (it can be viewed in the device manager in (COM and LPT ports) by opening this menu.

In any case, in My Huawei Terminal we are looking for the line ZTE Proprietary USB Modem. Select it by clicking on it with the mouse.

Next, press the next Connect button (that is, connect to the modem) Then, in the bottom line, enter the desired AT command and press the Enter button on the keyboard. After that, if everything was done correctly, we will receive a response from the modem. For example

In this case, we entered the ATI command and pressed the Enter button on the keyboard. After that, we received information about the type of modem, about the firmware and even its IMEI (for example, your IMEI has been erased from the modem case, but you need to find it out, or after an unsuccessful flashing, you erased the IMEI in the
modem, you want to know if you managed to restore your IMEI in the modem or not).

If, while working with the terminal, the following window pops up instead of what you expected.

So you chose the wrong COM port and the terminal simply did not connect to the modem. (Repeat everything above and try to connect to the modem again.)

Let's consider another option. Suppose you, when unlocking the Beeline (or any other) modem, you removed the autoload in the modem, respectively, and the virtual CD-ROM with the drivers for the modem, and now on another computer you cannot automatically install the drivers on the modem. (Or this happened simply after an unsuccessful modem flashing)
How to repair CD-ROM to install modem drivers? To start.

Find any on the Internet ISO image from ZTE MF modem….(any)! Open it with the WinRAR archiver and install everything manually

(drivers and modem control program). How to install drivers manually, I think you know if not, then these screenshots will help you understand this (an example is given for Windows7) Go to Device Manager .... Then we do everything according to the pictures

In this case, the path to the driver folder was C:\Program Files\Connect Manager\drivers\32bit\WIN7 (it may have a slightly different name for you, depending on what software you use and what Windows you have).

After specifying the folder with the drivers, click next. The driver for this device is being installed from the specified driver folder. We repeat this operation for all devices for which we need to install drivers manually. After installing all the drivers, if we did everything right, we see this picture

That is, everything is done, right, all the drivers are up, the question marks have disappeared. Everything works normally. If some question mark has not disappeared, then we repeat everything.

After all the necessary drivers are installed for the modem, we launch My Huawei Terminal and repeat all the steps that we did earlier in order to determine the type and model of the modem. But in this case, we do not need to know the type of modem. and restore the autoload CD-ROM with drivers for the modem. Therefore, instead of the ATI command, enter the command AT+ZCDRUN=F and press the Enter button on the keyboard.
Then we enter the command AT + ZCDRUN \u003d 9 F and press the Enter button on the keyboard.

After that, we distort the modem. We remove the modem software from the computer and try to install the native modem software from the modem itself. If you did everything right, then everything should work out.

We have considered only two examples, but there are quite a few such examples. They are of the same type.

For example, here is just a small part of the AT commands for modems of the ZTE MF series
AT+ZCDRUN=E removes the NODOWNLOAD.FLG file
AT+ZCDRUN=F restores NODOWNLOAD.FLG
AT+ZCDRUN=8 removes the autorun.flg file
AT+ZCDRUN=9 restores autorun.flg

Setting different operating modes for ZTE MF :

at+zbandi=2 UMTS 2100 + GSM 900/1800 (Europe)
at+zbandi=3 UMTS 850/2100 + GSM 900/1800
at+zbandi=4 UMTS 850/1900 + GSM 850/1900

AT commands for modems on ICERA processor such as for example ZTE MF192, as well as ZTE MF652
The AT command AT%USBMODEM=0 puts the modem into Modem Only mode.
AT command AT%USBMODEM=1 puts the modem into "Modem+CD ROM" mode

For Huawei series modems, AT commands slightly different…. But more on that next time.

Good luck to all.

You can find it here or in the software section. On this site.

In this article we will tell you about a small, but undoubtedly useful free utility for working with modems and mobile routers Huawei - GadgetInfo. As the name implies, the utility is designed to obtain information about mobile devices. Version 1.1 implements full-fledged work with modems and routers manufactured by Huawei. The utility allows you to get a complete set of information about a Huawei modem or router connected via USB, including model, firmware and hardware version, IMEI, dashboard version ( software), the lock status and the number of remaining attempts to enter the unlock code. As additional information, the program allows many other characteristics, such as IMSI, supported command sets, current modem mode (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, etc.), SIM card status, signal strength, operator, etc. The program does not require the installed NET Framework or other Runtime libraries, in fact, any edition of Windows and installed drivers for your modem (router) are enough. Those. it is enough that your modem is detected operating system. The program interface is presented as follows:

All information about the installed device (modem, Huawei mobile router) is grouped on the first tab, while "optional" parameters are placed in the "Additional information" group. To determine the characteristics of your modem or router - connect it via USB to a PC. Wait until the device appears in the device manager, i.e. completely determined by the computer. If you installed the software from the built-in CDROM partition of your device, then additional driver installation is not required. Run GadgetInfo.exe and select the port related to your modem / router in the list of COM ports (you need to start GadgetInfo after you have inserted the device into USB, if the corresponding device is not found in the list of COM ports - restart the program, when it starts it will automatically detect COM ports available in the system), after clicking on the "Get information" button - GadgetInfo will poll your modem and calculate everything you need.

The "Copy" button is designed to copy the information marked with checkmarks to the clipboard, for example, for posting on a forum or blog. For the example shown in the screenshot, clicking on "Copy" will copy the following information to the clipboard:

Manufacturer: Model: E3372 Versions (firmware and hardware): E3372S-153 21.285.01.02.143,CL1E3372SM Ver.A IMEI: 864346020190353 Compilation date/time: Apr 22 2014, 21:26:00 Dashboard version: UTPS23.015.05.04.04. _MAC23.015.05.04.143 Lock status: Unlocked (no code required) Code attempts remaining: 10

You can also mark (or vice versa, uncheck) any item of interest when copying information to the clipboard. But on getting information opportunities GadgetInfo do not end. The program implements a full-fledged terminal for working with a modem / router. Not so long ago, in an article we wrote about the main ways to enter AT commands into a modem. Among the common software for these purposes were noted - DC Unlocker Client (it was used as a regular terminal program), PuTTy, HyperTerminal and Huawei Modem Terminal (My Huawei Terminal) from Alexander S. Shokin. The last program, at one time was practically the "de facto" standard in the field of software for working with a modem via a COM port, however, despite all its conveniences, it had a significant drawback, requiring the installed .NET Framework package in the system, which many not installed. GadgetInfo is devoid of this shortcoming and will work on almost any Windows OS. Below is a screenshot of GadgetInfo running in terminal mode:

The method of working with the modem / router through AT commands remains unchanged. So, to get information about the modem, you need to give the device the command ATI. In response, the modem will display the model, IMEI, firmware version and a set of additional supported AT commands. You can use the AT^CARDLOCK? command to determine the modem's lock status, although this information is provided on the "Information" tab:

AT^CARDLOCK? - Check the status of the lock and the remaining attempts to enter the unlock code. In response, the modem will issue CARDLOCK: A,B,0, where A is the state of the lock, B is the number of remaining unlock attempts. A = 2 means that there is no symlock, A = 1 if the modem is locked.

Finally, the terminal will come in handy for you to unlock your Huawei modem/router. Unlocking is carried out using the NCK code, unique for each device, which you can purchase on our marketplace or in the product catalog, or for older models, considering one of the free calculators. AT command to unlock:

AT^CARDLOCK="nck code", where NCK code is the unlock code you received. So, to unlock the Huawei E3372 NCK shown in the example, the unlock code is 65679426. To unlock the modem, enter the command AT^CARDLOCK="65679426" into it. When entering a valid unlock command through the terminal, the modem should respond OK, after which the SIM lock will be unlocked.
