Fallout new vegas possible companions. Fallout: New Vegas: Satellite FAQ. Abilities, personal quests. Companions Humanoids: Deployment and Recruitment

The protagonist's partners Fallout New Vegas, can become different characters if main character will fulfill some conditions, most often such conditions are the completion of side quests. Partners can help the main character in completing quests, they can carry his things, they can provide fire support. The use of such characters for their own purposes greatly simplifies the passage of the game.

For convenience, use summary :

Partners in Fallout New Vegas

IN Fallout game New Vegas has eight characters that can join the main character and become his partner. In order for this to happen, you need to fulfill some conditions, for example: fix the robot, conduct an investigation, kill someone, etc. The partner not only helps the main character in dragging things, or destroying enemies, while traveling through the expanses of Fallout New Vegas with a partner, the main character receives a temporary ability from him, this ability is different for each partner.

Also, each partner has his own unique and at the same time individual quest, you can get it only when you are in a good relationship with your partner, and for completing this quest, the main character will receive very good buns, it can be either a unique ability or a unique weapon or armor.

Clue: simultaneously with the main character there can be 2 partners, one robot and one, well, let's say "not a robot" =)

Lily

A very colorful and interesting character, he is a shadow super mutant, an excellent fighter and simply an indispensable partner in carrying out power operations. If Lily is the partner of the protagonist, then he has by 200% the time of using the stealth battle will increase.

In order for Lily to join the main character, you need to arrive in the town of Jacobstown, find Dr. Henry and complete the quest “Guess who I saw!” For him, during this quest, the main character, together with Lily, will go to the Charleston cave, in order to to help Dr. Henry understand why the night hunters have strange mutations. It is from this quest that the business relationship between the protagonist and Lily will begin.

By the way, you can significantly increase Lily's strength, or help her cope with her madness, for this you will need to complete Lily's personal quest "Lily and Leo".

This is interesting: during the arrival of the main character in Jacobstown, Lily spends her time grazing bighorns, that is, she is an ordinary shepherd.

ED-E

Partner ED-E is a robot of the Duraframe series and belongs to a family of flying robots, which are also called robo-eye. If ED-E is in a team with the main character, then the latter increases the ability of the radar to detect and identify targets.

In order to make ED-E your partner, you first need to find and fix it, because the robot is located in the Primm location in the Nash house and its condition is far from workable, in other words, the robot is broken. There are two ways to repair an ED-E, that is by using abilities, or by repairing using different parts.

ED-E repair abilities:

  • « Repair» - 65;
  • « The science» - 55 + « Repair» — 35.

If your abilities in repair and science are far from such, then you can find the parts that are needed to repair ED-E, these are:

  • Scrap metal - 3 units;
  • Sensor module - 2 pcs.;
  • Electronic junk — 1 pc.

After you fix the ED-E, the robot will be your faithful companion. By the way, ED-E is well armed, he has a laser gun as his main weapon, and a stun gun as a melee weapon. ED-E can set fire to enemies, it looks enchanting.

This is interesting: ED-E's weaponry or armor can be upgraded by completing the "ED-E, My Love" quest.

Craig Boone

Boone is the guard of the Novak settlement, he is a sniper and usually keeps a night watch, his post is located in a statue of a huge dinosaur. During the daytime, Boone usually sleeps in his room. When Boone is the partner of the main character, then the latter, when using sights, the enemies are highlighted, this is a very useful skill.

In order for Boone to become the partner of the protagonist, it is necessary to complete the quest "Abduction", during which it is necessary to find out which of the inhabitants of Novak helped to kidnap Boone's wife. Only after completing this quest, Boone can be taken as a partner.

Boone's personal quest, after which you can get an improved outfit for him, is the quest "I forgot to forget", you can get it only after getting 5 reputation points with Boone.

Arcade Gennon

This character, being in the same squad as the main character, increases the latter's ability to heal by 20%. In order for Arcade Gennon to become the partner of the protagonist, first you need to find him in the old Mormon fort and fulfill a number of conditions:

  • Chatting Gennon to go with the main character, for this you need to have "Eloquence" of at least 75 points;
  • Gennon will become a partner of the main character if he is a friend of the Followers of the Apocalypse faction;
  • Gennon can become a partner of the protagonist out of pity, for this the "Intelligence" characteristic must be 3 points or lower.

It is important: if you have a good reputation with the Legion, then you can not even approach Arcade, he hates them fiercely.

Arcade Gennon is not a strong partner, but he is very important because of his personal quest "Old Times", by completing which, the main character can get cool power armor.

Cass

Cass, or fully Rose of Sharon Cassidy, is the owner of a small company called Cassidy's Caravans. In order for Cass to become the partner of the main character, you need to complete the quest "You can rely on me", or rather, not even like that, in the course of completing this quest, the main character can persuade Cassidy to become his partner.

Cassidy's temporary ability is the "Whiskey and Rose" ability, this is a kind of ability that increases the damage threshold of the main character when drinking whiskey.

Cassidy's individual quest is the "Paying the Bills" quest, this quest can be completed in 2 different ways, this is a peaceful and accordingly aggressive way. Depending on how you completed this quest, you will receive experience points, and Cass will receive one of these abilities:

  • Ability "Frozen" (peaceful way) - gives Cass an additional 50 health points;
  • The ability "Hand of Vengeance" (violent method) - increases the damage done by Cassidy by 15%.

This is interesting: Cassidy is a kind of connection with Fallout 2, because she is the daughter of a character who in Fallout 2 could also become a partner of the protagonist.

Rex

Rex is a robotic dog originally owned by the King, who can be found in Freeside. To get a dog as a partner, you need to talk to the King, he will tell the main character that the dog is sick. You can promise to cure Rex, in which case the King will make you the new owner of the dog and release it with you.

Rex as a partner will give you the temporary ability "Search and Mark", this ability highlights all ammo, chemicals and food, even if they are in containers, though you need to look through the scope for this.

Rex's personal quest is the quest "A Dog's Life", depending on whose brain is transplanted to Rex, he will receive one of 3 abilities:

  • Ability "Faithful Defender" (Rey's brain) - the damage inflicted by Rex will increase by 25%;
  • Ability "Excellent tracker" (Violetta's brain) - Rex's speed will increase by 50%;
  • Ability "Blood of the Legion" (Lupa's brain) - if Rex receives this ability, then his damage threshold will increase by 10 points.

Veronica

Veronica is a cheerful, cheerful girl that the main character can meet in the Trading Post 188 location. In order for Veronica to become your partner, it is enough to talk with her. While wandering with this girl, you will receive the Scribe's Help ability, this is a very useful ability, because with it you can create various items. In order to use the ability, you need to talk with Veronica.

Veronica's personal quest is the "Solid Worries" quest, by completing which the main character will help Veronica get a new ability.

Raoul

This is a very interesting character, let's start with the fact that he is a ghoul, his specialization is a mechanic and he is the only prisoner of the prison located on Black Mountain. If you release Raul from captivity, he will become your partner. Being in the same squad as the main character, Raul gives the latter the temporary ability "Regular Maintenance", this ability allows your weapons and armor to wear out 50% slower.

Partners from DLC Fallout New Vegas

Each addition to Fallout New Vegas adds several new partners to the game, in this section we will try to briefly talk about them, here are these characters:

  • ED-E - this character appears after installing the DLC Lonesome Road, this is the only partner from this add-on, is a copy of the usual ED-E, allows the main character to use the workbench at any time of the day or night. Is a quest character;
  • Roxy - another robot dog in the game, appears after installation DLC Old world blues. It is worth noting here that Roxy is not a partner in the full sense of this concept, the fact is that the main character himself creates Roxy, according to the drawings that he finds in the X-8 research center, this center is a kind of Roxy's house, so the robot dog cannot follow the main character outside the center;
  • Following Chalk is one of three characters that appear after installing the Honest Hearts DLC. This character is a warrior of the Dead Horse tribe. The temporary ability of this character is the ability "Indicative signs";
  • Joshua Graham is another of the Honest Hearts DLC partners. This character's temporary ability is the Path of the Canaanite ability;
  • The Waking Cloud is the last companion in the Honest Hearts expansion. Is a midwife tribe Mourners. Gives the main character the temporary ability "Quiet and Smooth", this ability reduces the perception of soldiers from the White Legs tribe by 3 points. The personal quest of this character is the quest "Family Business", with this quest the main character can set the tribe of the Mourners on the enemies he needs;
  • Dog/God is a character from the Dead Money add-on. Another interesting character is a shadow super mutant with a split personality. The main character has the ability to swap these personalities, respectively, each personality has its own temporary ability (which the main character receives);
  • Christine is a character from the Dead Money expansion. With the help of this partner, the main character can learn to forge Sierra Madre chips;
  • Dean Domino is a character from the Dead Money expansion. Another partner - a ghoul, gives the main character the temporary ability "Substance Abuse", which will reduce the damage received from the Cloud by 25%.

In this article, we tried to talk about all the partners that are in the Fallout New Vegas game and additions to this wonderful game. We hope that you liked the article and you got answers to your questions, if of course you had them. If something is not clear to you, or you disagree with something, then write about it in the comments.

Craig Boone
Location: Novak

Partner Perk: Gunner

Personal Quest #1: Abduction

Personal quest #2: "I forgot to forget"

Reward (after completing quest #1): Takes the 1st recon battalion (+1 Perception, +5% critical hit chance)

Reward (after completing quest No. 2): Body armor of the 1st reconnaissance battalion, Assault armor of the 1st reconnaissance group (the reward depends on the answers chosen; the costumes are identical in characteristics, they differ only in appearance).

Description: A former member of the NCR's elite reconnaissance battalion, Boone still retains his marksmanship and composure. His weapon of choice is a hunting rifle with a telescopic sight, which he uses expertly. The range from which Boone begins to hit opponents sometimes exceeds the effective range of the player himself. And his special ability allows you to highlight opponents while aiming or observing through binoculars. Thus, if your character is not a supporter of hand-to-hand combat, then he, along with Boone, is able to destroy a whole group of opponents on the spot. Remember that the backlight works even at night.

Combinations: If you take the ED-E robot as a partner to Boon, it will become even easier to notice opponents.

Arcade Israel Gennon
Location: Mormon Fort

Partner Perk: Improved Healing (Food and healing drugs are 20% more effective)

Personal quest: "Old times"

Reward (after completing the quest): Help during the siege of Hoover Dam from the Remainers, or Tesla Armor.

Description: The least battle-hardened and hardy of all possible companions. Arcade should not be used as a "tank" or the main strike force of the squad. Shooting from energy pistols and rifles while standing behind the character is his main purpose. Don't forget to provide the doctor with stronger armor.

Combinations: His perk will help during (and after) firefights, and his skills with energy weapons will help you deal with enemies that come close to the hero and his group.

Rose Sharon Cassidy (Cass)
Location: Mojave Outpost

Partner Perk: "Whisky and Rose" (+3 to DR after drinking whiskey)

Personal quest: "Paying the bills"

Reward (after completing the quest): "Hand of Vengeance" perk (15% bonus to its damage when using firearms), or "Cold Heart" (+50 HP).

Description: Useful in combat, but her native weapons clearly lack armor-piercing ammo. Swap out her shotgun for some more lethal weapon and issue the appropriate ammo to Cass and become much more useful. In close combat, she is quite capable of standing up for herself (and for the player).

Combinations: Together with Rex, she is able to make a rustle in close contact with opponents, or to keep the character company during a battle at a distance.

Raul Tegada
Location: Mount Black

Partner Perk: Regular Maintenance (reduces weapon and armor wear by 25%)

Personal quest: "Ghoul of the old school"

Reward (after completing the quest): "Old Vaquero" (increase rate of fire by 33%) or "Full maintenance".

Description: By sending Raul to his hut, you can visit the ghoul in order to repair weapons (which, despite releasing him from imprisonment, will not cost free). His perk is able to turn the "Designed to Destroy" trait into a useful ability without negative traits.

Combinations: It is better to keep enemies away from him, even if they are not particularly strong. Equip him with a rifle or submachine gun and don't forget to drop ammo, especially if Raul received the Old Vaquero perk as a reward for the quest. Can't wear heavy armor.

Lily Bowen
Location: Jacobstown

Teammate Perk: Stealth Girl (Doubles the duration of Stealth Boy; +10% Damage dealt by Critical Strike while Stealth.

Personal quest: "Guess who I saw!"

Reward (after completing the quest): a) a complete cure for seizures with a decrease in combat characteristics;
b) more rare seizures (25% of HP and below) while maintaining the characteristics;
c) frequent seizures (50% HP and below) with an increase in characteristics.
The choice is given during the dialogue about the medicine prescribed to her.

Description: An excellent partner for a character who uses peaceful skills to complete quests and progress through the story. And the largest amount of HP among all partners will allow her to protect her "Jimmy" for a very long time.

Combinations: Since Lily is best at using super sledgehammers and other melee weapons, she will be even more effective in the company of Rex.

Veronica Santangelo
Location: 188 Trading Post

Partner Perk: Scribe's Help (workbench access via dialogue)

Personal quest: "Solid worries"

Reward (after completing the quest): +4 to PU, or + 30% to her damage in hand-to-hand combat (depending on whether Veronica remains in the Brotherhood or not)

Description: If you give Veronica a Formal Dress or a White Glove Society Outfit, she will teach the Sim the Scribe's Hand-to-hand combat.

Combinations: Veronica is quite useful in skirmishes with armored opponents, as her power fist has the ability to break through armor. And if, towards the end of the game, the character has a bunch of weapons that can withstand perfect armor, in the early stages of the game, Veronica can be very useful.

Help in Hardcore mode: An ideal partner in this mode, Veronica, who is able to provide access to the workbench at any time, will greatly facilitate the life of a character with the Zealous Master perk. Used energy batteries can be recycled on the go.

Rex
Location: Freeside, King's Doppelgänger School

Partner Perk: "Search and Mark" (highlight all pickups and openable containers in green)

Personal quest: "A dog's life"

Reward (after completing the quest): New brain (depending on the choice of the donor):
a) increase in health (the brain of Lupa, the personal dog of the dog breeder Anthony)
b) attack boost (brain of Ray, one of Lady Gibson's dogs)
c) increase in movement speed (the brain of Violetta, Violet's personal dog)

Description: Rex perfectly manages to break the distance with the enemy and unleash a hail of bites on him, sometimes knocking the breath out of him and forcing him to lose consciousness.

Combinations: Perfectly complements both Lily, keeping her company in hand-to-hand fights, and Buna, pulling opponents towards herself and keeping them at a distance.

ED-E
Location: Primm, Mojave Express

Partner Perk: Heightened Senses (recognize and mark enemies on the radar from a distance)

Personal quest: "ED-E, my love"

Reward (after completing the quest): a) +8 SP (if given to the Brotherhood)
b) +40% damage dealt by the robot (if given to Followers)

Description: Thanks to its sensitive sensors, ED-E is a useful partner in both normal and hardcore modes, allowing you to avoid life-threatening situations.

Pairings: Pairs well with Boone, or with any teammate or player who prefers close range combat.

In Fallout New Vegas, you can take 8 characters as partners, and two can go with you at the same time: one robot and one humanoid. Each partner gives a certain special skill for the duration of his presence in the squad.

Robot ED-E
Can be found in Prime, in Nash's house. To take the robot to the squad, it needs to be repaired. This can be done either by using skills (“repair=65″ or “science=55″ + “repair=30″”) or with the help of spare parts (3 pieces of scrap metal, 2 sensor modules, 1 piece of electronic junk). Armed with laser weapons. While in the detachment, it works as a kind of radar, recognizing and designating targets at a considerable distance around. Can carry things.

Robodog Rex
Located in Freeside with the King. When she is present in the detachment, things lying around should be highlighted when examining the area through a scope, binoculars or a camera. Can carry things.

Raoul
Ghoul repairman. Locked up in Black Mountain Jail. He will go with you if you release him. Gives the player a reduction in weapon and armor wear as a bonus.

Veronica
Scribe of the Brotherhood of Steel. It stands at the “188th trading post”. Will go with you without additional preliminary tasks. Bladed weapons specialist. Carries a portable mobile workbench (on which you can craft various items, as well as reload cartridges).

Boone
A sniper on duty at night in Novak, inside a dinosaur statue. To join, you must first complete the task of finding the "killer" of his wife. His special skill is that when looking at the area through the scope, enemy targets should be highlighted.

Lily
Crazy super mutant. Able to move in stealth. Gives the player a 200% increased duration of the Stealth Boy Device. The preference for weapons is standard for a super mutant - melee weapons (sledgehammers, etc.) or two-handed firearms / energy. By default, she is armed with a sword and a machine gun with a silencer. You can find Lily in Jacobstown.

Arcade Gennon (Arcade)
Former enclave. Now he works in Freeside, in the old Mormon fort for the Followers of the Apocalypse. Secretly dreams of rebuilding the Enclave. Dislikes the Legion and will not go with a player who has a good relationship with it. Armed with a plasma pistol. While in a squad, increases the effectiveness of treatment.

Cass
A drunken cowboy from a bar in the Mojave outpost. He is good with machine guns, rifles (including energy ones) and shotguns. To join the squad, you will first need to complete her quest (go to the Crimson Caravan, and then return and persuade Cass to sell her bankrupt company to them).

The player can give his assistants their weapons and armor. When issuing faction armor to companions, you need to be careful. they may refuse to put it on and throw the armor on the ground.
The player's helpers are immortal except in hardcore mode, but in normal mode, instead of dying, they simply lose consciousness and come to life at the end of the battle (the exception is story deaths). An assistant who has become unnecessary can be sent home at any time (to where he was originally) or to the presidential suite of the Lucky 38 casino.

There is an unpleasant bug in the game - assistants can “get lost”, i.e. will take a place in the detachment, but in fact they will not be with you, nor at the place of their permanent “registration”. This is fraught with the fact that you will not be able to dismiss the assistant who has become a phantom and take another in his place. If this happens, the easiest way is to reload the old save.

General information.

  • Total the game has 8 characters who can be your companions;
  • Simultaneously can travel with you 2a character, wherein one is a robot, the other is a humanoid;
  • Normally satellite games (as far as I know) not killable, maximum - lose consciousness. In hardcore mode satellites are dying. Easy, fast and relaxed;
  • Every satellite gives you any specific ability, which persists as long as the satellite is with you, If for some reason you lose this satellite, then and capabilities You also lose.
  • At everyone companion has combat preferences(melee or ranged combat), if you allow him to adhere to them, it is assumed that then he fights more effectively(you can find out these preferences by asking the question: "how can I better use your abilities");
  • Each companion has its own special weapon. After the death of the companion, you cannot take this weapon: (;
  • You you can transfer armor or weapons to your companion, or simply fuse things to your satellite that you feel sorry for throwing away or selling, but which you literally do not have enough strength to transfer. The satellite can use transferred armor or weapons(in this case, the cartridges will be spent, but the condition of the weapon will not deteriorate)
  • Each companion has a quest for you.

While wandering the wastelands, you may encounter friendly characters who want to come with you. At any time, you can have one human (or humanoid, such as a mutant or ghoul) and one non-human (robot or animal) companion.

Each companion adds unique bonuses to your character, such as increasing the effectiveness of medicines or increasing certain characteristics. These bonuses only last as long as that companion is with you, and disappear as soon as you drive him away.

Each companion has a unique destiny that can be revealed as the game progresses. Try to get to know your comrades better and you will learn a lot about them and about the wastelands.

  • Use a stimulant- at the same time, you take a stimulant from your equipment and heal your companion with it. The wheel displays the current and maximum health of the companion, as well as the number of stims in your equipment. Keep in mind that companions will automatically use any healing items from their own equipment when their health level gets too low.
  • Wait here / Follow me- ask a companion to wait for you on the spot or go further with you. There are situations when it is better to leave the satellite at a distance.
  • Speak- start a conversation with a companion. This way you can learn something new about them, even open up new tasks and new abilities for you and your friend!
  • Back- order the satellite to move back a little.
  • stay away/closer- set at what distance your friend will follow you.
  • Open equipment- open a screen with which you can exchange items with a companion. Don't forget to give your comrades new weapons and armor, as well as replenish their stocks of ammo and stims!
  • Ranged/Melee- order a friend to switch from one type of attack to another. Some companions will be more useful at a distance, while others will be more useful in close combat.
